The JM23 Classic is an event with the purpose of celebrating the life of Jacob Medina through the game of baseball and supporting The Medina Family. Money will be raised to help support the family. Help us make a big impact.
Team Emery runs on volunteers just like you! In order to make the inaugural JM23 Classic a success, we are looking to fill some spots with amazing people. Volunteering opportunities include our entrance gate crew, concessions, t-shirt sales, and silent auction! We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization, so we can sign off for community hours if needed! Interested in giving some of your time? Sign up with the orange link below. Any questions, please contact Susan Witt at (480)-221-3637.
This bracket is updated in real time. It shows teams, as well as scores of how each time did. Field info and game time will also be included. Click the link below to view the tournament bracket.
Each year, Team Emery will pick a family to sponsor. For our inaugural year, we have selected the Medina Family. JM23, named after Jacob Medina, had a courageous 15-month battle with Leukemia. If you are unable to attend, please consider donating to the event through Team Emery’s Venmo. To directly donate to the family, click the orange “donate” button below. Learn more about Jacob’s story below.
Don't miss out on the first ever JM23 Classic! Space is limited for the Home Run Derby so sign up fast.
You have the chance to compete against family, friends, coaches, and other parents.

Jacob M. Medina, 19, of Gilbert, AZ was called to heaven on May 13, 2020. Jacob led a very active, happy, and healthy lifestyle and had an avid love for the game of baseball, both as a player and a fan. He also loved music, cars, shoes, and he was a friend to everyone, in all walks of life.
On March 16, 2019, Jacob was diagnosed with B Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. When first diagnosed, his bone marrow consisted of 93% Leukemia. Just 33 days later on April 19, Jacob remarkably entered remission. At the time, he was a senior at Perry High School with aspirations of playing college baseball in the near future.
In December 2019, his health began to deteriorate and in January 2020, it was confirmed the cancer had returned. After a courageous 15-month battle, Jacob took his last breath surrounded by his loved ones.
To know him was to love him. Jacob’s bright smile and magnetic personality will be missed dearly by everyone he touched and will remain in our hearts. This event is just one of the many ways Jacob’s legacy will live on. #JacobStrong
